[Ciph Protragdon]

A nod and a grunt would be acknowledgement of her thanks.

Looking at her, Ciph's eyes narrowed; it looked like his eyebrows might swallow them up. "Sounds like you're after some dangerous folk. So..." His lips moved as he tried to work it out. "The guy who took this kid. Was he one of the boarders, or one of the other passengers? Or crew?"

[Vala Roke]

"Had to be one of the Mandalorians, I think, looked the part and blasted their way through some Republic soldiers. So, I'm pretty sure he was one of the boarders. I wish I had some more context of what happened but it happened pretty quickly...I'm going to hope to find someone who remembered seeing what happened or someone who knows Markos. Dad or mom. I'll even chat with the family loth-cat if it'll get a lead."

She shook her head, "Anyway, Ciph, don't mean to throw all of this drama on you on short notice. Especially, when we've made a good mess of your yard around here. Well, at least, I can pass on the formality that I'll be checking things up around here in my spare time."

[Ciph Protragdon]

Ciph considered that. "Well... good luck, miss. Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you. I guess we all do, huh?"

Grunting, he waved a hand. "Not a problem. This may be the tourist off-season, but we're always ready to welcome guests. Kandra's Run steps up." Ciph gave a firm nod. "And hey, if you need any help with your problem... we can help with that, too. Don't rightly know who, but we'll figure something out. Sheriff joined up when the Mandos came." He finished by way of explanation.

[Vala Roke]

"I don't think CorSec expected me to be lounging around when they forked over the credits for the rental here," she nodded at that before murmuring under her breath, "I hope the insurance covers the rental ship getting completely totalled..."

Vala brushed some hair behind her ear. "Yeah, I could check in with your sheriff. I don't intend to step on any toes around here. I already learned that lesson in the last town I found myself in. But sometimes things just have a way of taking a life of their own."

"Anyway," she mustered a forcible smile. "Maybe you should see to your crew and folks. I'll be good here for a bit. I might hobble off once circulation returns to my feet. Thanks for the hand, Ciph."

[Ciph Protragdon]

"Yeah, well..." Ciph scratched at his head again. "Don't know if you could count on talking to the sheriff anytime soon. But you can check with the Mayor, or with me if there's anything you need."

Nodding again, he offered her his hand; again, the tremor would be just the slightest bet detectable. "Sure thing, miss. You take care now. I hope the rest of your people are alright, and you find what you're looking for."

After one last check to make sure she had everything she needed, he'd head out.

"Yeah, I got it." Vala would shake his hand in return with a steady grip, perhaps in some small effort to still the tremor she felt in the hold. "I hope so too if I'm going to get a good night's sleep anytime soon. I'm very sure that there are others who need the help right about now."

With that, she gave Ciph a nod before he went off to help those in more dire condition.
