The morning program started, as it always did, with some soft jizz music.
“Good morning, ladies and gentlemen and other, sentients and semi-sentients, old, young, and everyone in between, and welcome to another morning with me, Fugaruns T’ed, on A Forest Reflection. I hope you felt that last track in your bones, cartilage or other structural parts. Music should make you feel something, don’t you agree? And now I’m happy to be sharing some select news items with you.”
“Today we’re doing a little piece on Kandra’s Run. Our sleeping little logging town has become a major Republic base, if you can believe it! Our very own local heroes, fighting the good fight. But before the war I’m sure we all recall Kandra Run as where most of our finest hardwoods came from, and for that frontier spirit that makes Obroas-Skai so special! The town has a tight knit community too, they fight, just ask Ciph Protragdon. But more than that, they’re a family. Their Mayor Camali Evevos is a bright spark and has won the Obroas-Skai mayor of the year award twice now.”
Fugrauns gave a slow bob of his head. “But in other news I spoke with Lieutenant Bevin Connors of the Council Security League. Lieutenant Connors reported that despite the best efforts of our forces we have sustained damage to the shield generator. He also urged me to remind everyone that the generator is still functional and any flickering you see is temporary. And now, Wampas? Rural myth or hidden predator? I speak to Professor Porflaxxen to discuss the rumours. And that - is A Forest Reflection.
