D3 Event questions

Late question, but here goes:

For Roll 2 as a non-hacker (Discipline vs Avg +2 Setbacks) - Snowie has two Boosts from equipment (Combat tested on Shield and Vibroknucklers). The description of 'Combat tested' doesn't specify the boosts only applies to combat-related situations, but somehow I don't feel it would be appropriate to apply them to this check.

Is my thinking correct, or should I just go ahead and use the boosts?

Thanks!

You can go ahead and use those boosts. :D

Adding another one that only occurred to me while tentatively trying to sum up the results.

For non-hackers, there's no mention of 2 extra successes granting extra floating successes (on rolls 1, 2 and 4). Is that on purpose, or should extra successes also grant extra floating successes there?

Thanks! :)

That is correct those non-hacking support rolls produce less extra successes but are more flexible. Step 3 is the exception where the support rolls can also produce extra successes.
