After many days of hard work, the Concord Dawn cantina is fully functional again. No, more than functional. It is filled with decorations, revelers, food, drinks, and music. Republic personnel and locals mingle, swapping stories.

One way or another, tomorrow will be a day for the archives. Do your best to make tonight memorable, too!

Vala walked into the Cantina, not knowing what to expect exactly. It wasn't like celebrations weren't commonplace, there had been many victories during the course of the campaign but she supposed that this one was one where she felt that might have actually some breathing room to celebrate, rather than expect a battle stations alert at any given time. It wasn't real peace but it perhaps felt close. It was enough to bring a smile out of her.

If she had taken up Rogan's offer, she might have actually come dressed fancily to celebrate but she supposed it might have been a bit too dressy if they weren't serving oysters and caviar there.

Music, camaraderie and some of the best of the remaining food and drink were a sufficient draw to bring the Miralukan out to the cantina. Maybe a good Jedi would be meditating on the day to come...or getting an early night's sleep. She'd never claimed to be a particularly _good_ Jedi as far as that sort of thing went.

Besides, maybe offering the steadying presence of a....

Her thoughts cut short as she walked in to realize someone had that jukebox playing the sappiest old folksong she'd ever heard...possibly the oldest recording the thing held. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the yodeling. With a calming breath, she approaches the machine; resists smacking it into the next queued piece; and drops her own credits in to queue up almost anything else.

Of course, the cantina. It looked almost as good as new. Perhaps that was because of all the life? His force sight was not used to so much happiness in one place. It was refreshing.

Perceiving Vala and Tomin he offered a nod and a smile before approaching the bar and ordering some sort of local fruit juice. Once served he found a table and sat quietly, enjoying the exuberance.

"Who would have thought Jedi would be so good at warfare and drinking?" Zeline mused before downing a drink herself. It wasn't really meant to be a taunt. Just a woman finding something to laugh about at the end of the road.

Not that it was supposed to be the end. She could have gone out a long time ago, glorious sacrifice and all that. Maybe she might have overdosed in her bunk. Everything had been calculated to win without resorting to that.

How many drinks in was she though? Math was difficult to get exact...

Terreck was there with a beer in hand. He really didn't want to do any heavy drinking with the way tomorrow was likely to go. Still a couple wouldn't hurt it was just enough to ignore the awful yodeling that was blaring on the speakers after all.

Taking a sip of his drink he made his way over to where food was located, dinner had been on his mind most of the day, and this looked like it was going to be a good one.

Snowie felt better after that time to clear his mind. Better, and... different?

Sitting down and thinking first about things, then about his feelings about things, then about why there were feelings, then about what do make of these feelings, then about what energies these feelings called, then about how to recognise and deal with these energies... then about nothing. It was all new, all a work in progress.

But, somehow, it worked. His head felt lighter as he got into the cantina. It was as if his body felt lighter, too (not literally, of course - he was still gigantic and heavy).

He could even control the craving for more of that berry sherry he'd had the day of the Karaoke party. Or at least he thought he remembered it as berry sherry. He could control that quite well!

For about half an hour. He then happily joined the merry-making and decided to look for others, and for something with berries...

Nimi, as it happened was scoopying some berries out of a bowl and into her mouth/ several of her pockets. As Snowflake approaches the militia leader gives him a warm wave and quickly Snowflakes.

"Hey Snowie! Good to see you." She seems slightly jittery, but then aren't most of you? "Ready for the big day?"

Nimi, as it happened was scoopying some berries out of a bowl and into her mouth/ several of her pockets. As Snowflake approaches the militia leader gives him a warm wave and quickly Snowflakes.

"Hey Snowie! Good to see you." She seems slightly jittery, but then aren't most of you? "Ready for the big day?"

"Oi, Nimi!", the giant Gigoran greets her with a wide smile. "Been meaning to ask how you're doing for... a long time now! No signs of that incident with Krannor anymore, I hope?"

He eyes the berries with interest for a moment, but tries to keep his focus. "I'm... trying to be?" Another smile, this one much less confident. "How's the brunt of the Militia taking it?"

"Oh no. He sent me a picture of a bunch of burgers once which was...confusing. But other than that haven't heard much from him. Thanks again for the save back up there. You're a real hero. Everyone's been talking about you, did you fight like....a bunch of mercenaries in a sawmill? The rumours are all over the place."

At his question she immediately goes and grabs a few more berries to keep stress eating. "We're all wound a little tight. I mean, this is it, right? Do or die. Lots of us have family or friends in the city so you know, they might already been dead, but if we don't get there in time they definitely will be. I'm just hoping I don't kriff it all up at the end."

A wide smile grew on Snowie's face. "Oh, that might be from the Brook & Burgers back in Moorgrave! Or... did he mention where it was? I wonder if he found any other good joints!"

A hearty, friendly nod. "Snowflake, a hero?" He shakes his head, although his smile is even wider. "No, no! Snowflake just wants to help everyone..." He does grin though. "Committee, Captain, Hero, people have been really nice when giving titles to Snowflake!" The smile becomes more contained. "But no... really, I was just trying to help. The sawmill?..." He thinks for a while. "Ah! That was Mister Jacques... apparently this other homeclan from outside Obroa was doing bad things on our homeclan's turf. Even pulled our leg to send one of ours to kill mr Jacques... and mr Jacques was a good man! But it's all good now."

Probably explained even less than the rumours she would have heard, not that he would notice...

"Um. But... uh. I mean... we are doing our best, aren't we?" The smile is gone now, replaced by a crease of worry crossing his whole face - which is to say it was a lot of worry. "They... won't be dead, right? We've been doing all we can to protect the people... and we will protect them there, as best we can!"

The worry is clearly there still, but he tries to sound encouraging. "We won't kriff it up, miss Roth. I know we won't!"

He nods as if to reassure both her and himself, then tilts his head pensively. "The clansfolk... they generally don't keep to the city that much, yes? And they have been a bit quiet lately... Have you heard any from them?" A tentative smile. "Sure the whole clan will help too, yes?"

"Helping everyone is what heroes do, big-guy." She grins and punches Snowflake on the shoulder. This involves her jumping.

"Gonna put you up for a big fancy city medal after the war. Order of Obroas. Pretty sure you've earned it. And they can't say no to me since I'm sort of an officer, kind of." Some of her tension loosens as Snowflake mentions the burgers. "Yeah, they were from Brooks & Burgers. No idea what he was doing in Moorgrave, or why anyone would go there, real dump. That Alexei guy, yikes."

And indeed, Nimi might not be that much wiser after Snowflake explains what happened in that small town, but she mentally shrugs and just rolls with it, instead focusing on his questions.

"We're doing our best, you me, even that idiot Novar. If people were half this motivated when Mandalorians weren't trying to kill them then we could actually make some changes around here. We're not gonna kriff it up now, right? It's way too important."

Chuckling. "Oh yeah, the whole Clan will be there. Glacier put the word out, I heard they'd started attacking Neo-Crusader convoys all over. Smiler's having the time of his life" she shivers. "Creepy bastard. But I hear some underworld trouble got resolved so now they can fully focus on the Mandos."

Snowflake still doesn't feel quite like a hero, but a wide smile keeps adorning his face nonetheless as Nimi jumps up to punch his shoulder and talks about that medal. He'd never received a medal! Not that he remembered - that time he and some other clansfolk went to "clear up" things from the house of a rich and famous Obroan who lived in the capital and 'did not contribute to the village" probably didn't count, and he gave that gold medal back to the clan after the day was over after all.

"Moorgrave's a bit... grave, that's true. But they are nice folk after you get to know them better! And I didn't expect that, but the B&B there is really good!"

Some more smiling, encouragingly now. "I'm sure we won't, miss Roth! The folk are holding strong!" A friendly, encouraging nod. "And miss Roth is tough and smart! We'll be fine, and your team will be happy to be with ya! I'm sure of that"

"Oh, and I hadn't got word that mr Glacier had put out the word to the whole clan! This Cruise-aider clan won't last long, then, I'm sure!"

Her words on 'making some changes' make him pensive, though. "Maybe we can even use the momentum and get some change done after this is done!"

Which was putting the cart ahead of the horses a fair bit, of course. But a Gigoran can dream, right?

A wide, hopeful smile. "Maybe we should talk about that after the capital is secured? You and me and... maybe we could speak to mr Glacier and miss Fri...er... Brigid?"
